Accidental Leak: Ubisoft Confirms Far Cry Series Is in the Works From Fargo Creator

A sudden and quickly deleted press release from Ubisoft has revealed details of the upcoming Far Cry series. According to the surviving information, the project will be developed in collaboration with the FX channel under the direction of Noah Hawley, known for his work on Fargo and Alien: Earth. The main role in the series will be played by Rob McElhenney, star of the comedy show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The format of the series assumes an anthology structure with independent stories and different casts in each season, which is in line with the concept of the game series. Although the exact release date of the project remains unknown, this leak confirms long-standing rumors about a film adaptation of the popular franchise. Ubisoft has not yet given official comments regarding the prematurely published announcement.
