Counter-Strike 2 May Feature Unique Pets — Players’ Personal Chickens

Data miner Gabe Follower has found evidence of an upcoming innovation in Counter-Strike 2 files — a system of secret auctions with unique rewards. According to the data, the rarest reward will be a chicken egg, from which a chick will hatch over time, becoming the owner’s personal pet. A special feature of the system will be complete anonymity of trades — players will not see their opponents’ bids, and in case of a loss, they will lose game stars.

The hatched pet will have a unique appearance and will be linked to the owner’s account, excluding the possibility of sale or exchange. Players will be able to interact with the chicken — feed it, hold it in their hands, or set its image as the main menu screensaver. Other participants in the matches will also see the pet on the loading screen. Poletaev confirmed the presence of corresponding animations in the game, including examining the egg and interacting with the adult bird. Although the exact timing of the feature’s implementation is unknown, the addition of the corresponding files in the latest update indicates a possible imminent release of the innovation.
